Greg Maddux

In the strike-shortened 1994 season, Maddux tossed 24 quality starts in 25 starts, the highest percentage in any season in baseball history. From 1992-1995, a span of four season, Maddux had a 1.98 ERA (this in the midst of one of baseball’s most explosive offensive eras) and threw quality starts in 105 of 124 starts. It was one of the most dominating stretches of pitching in the history of baseball, and he seemed to just roll along “ho-hum” like, mowing down batters with his confounding repertoire of pitches.

He received one of the highest percentages in Hall of Fame voting and was elected in his first year on the ballot in 2014.
